Reg Bawa was appointed to the board in July 2010 by the provincial government. He is currently assistant deputy minister of Policy, Programs & Partnerships at the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. He received his chartered professional accountant designation in 1998.

Most recently, Reg was assistant deputy minister and executive financial officer of the Resource Management Division of the Ministry of Education. He has been in the public service for 30 years. Starting in 1992 with the Ministry of Finance, Superannuation Commission, he became executive director of the Banking and Cash Management Branch with the Provincial Treasury before serving in the Ministry of Children and Family Development as assistant deputy minister and executive financial officer of Finance and Corporate Services. Reg’s other career stops have included the Office of the Comptroller General, Provincial Treasury, Service BC, Provincial Revenue and the Ministry of Education as director of funding and compliance.

In addition to his professional experience, Reg has sat on the boards of the Healthcare Benefits Trust, the Community Social Services Employers’ Association and Focused Education Resources. Reg is a former member of the Canadian Payments Association’s Stakeholder Advisory Council.
