Ankie, a proud public school educator for more than 25 years, was appointed to the board in January 2024 by the British Columbia Teachers’ Federation (BCTF). She is a district principal with the Vancouver School District, overseeing the Provincial Resource Programs.

Ankie has been a member of the BCTF Teachers' Pension Plan Advisory Committee since 2006, and is currently the BC Principals' and Vice-Principals' Association representative. As a teacher member, she served as chair of the BCTF Pensions Committee. Ankie has been an executive member of the Vancouver Elementary Principals' and Vice-Principals' Association since 2017.

She has attended pension education workshops through the Canadian Labour Congress and attended numerous BC Public Sector Pension Plan conferences over the years.

Ankie holds a bachelor of education (BEd), a master of education (MEd) in special education, a certificate in Reconciliation through Indigenous Education, and is a certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
