Eligibility

You can apply for extended health care and dental coverage online during the retirement process if you:

Are a permanent resident of Canada
Have medical coverage through a provincial health plan in the province where you live (if you're applying for extended health care coverage)

You can include your spouse and/or eligible dependant(s) in your coverage if:

You are eligible for coverage through the Teachers' Pension Plan
They have medical coverage through a provincial health plan in the province where they live

If you are applying for coverage for you, your spouse and/or eligible dependant(s) 60 days or more after your pension effective date, check Green Shield Canada's My Benefit Plan booklet to see if you meet the eligibility criteria.
