Enrolling in the pension plan

Learn how enrolment rules apply to you.

You will be automatically enrolled in BC's Teachers' Pension Plan if you are a certified teacher or administrative officer working for an employer covered by the plan, provided you are not already receiving your Teachers' pension. This also applies if you are:

  • A certified on-call teacher
  • A superintendent
  • An assistant superintendent
  • An associated professional or certified professional who is a member of the BC Teachers' Federation

As a plan member, you and your employer will both contribute to your pension each pay period until you stop working for your employer or until November 30 of the year you turn 71.
